What are styes?

Styes are hurtful red lumps that mold at the base of an eyelash. They may heal of their own accord, or they can become infected.

What can you do?

In the early stage, bathing the affected area in warm salt water can speed the healing proccess. If a stye develops a point or discharges pus, go to the docter because you might need antibiotics.

What should i do if the cyst remains?

Occasionally, a small cyst (meimbomian cyst) persists after the infection has cleared. If this happeneds, seek medical advice.
